You Make My Day

January 28, 2008

My first every bloggy award!  I feel so special. :) Callista, of SMS Book Reviews, gave me the You Make My Day Award. Thanks so much!

You Make My Day!Now I’m supposed to choose ten more bloggers to give the award to…this is very difficult for me, since I don’t want anyone to feel left out. If you’re in my blogroll, obviously I enjoy reading your blog. :) And what with all the people who have been doing my meme, I’ve got tons more blogs that I suspect will soon become favourites! But, since I have to pick ten, here we go….
Iliana: hers was the very first bookblog I ever discovered, and I was just fascinated. She also wrote me my very first comment on my own blog when I started it!
Danielle: I always love reading her posts-she introduces me to tons of books I’d never have heard of otherwise. I recently finished a mystery she recommended and I just loved it. :) Her Thursday thirteen lists are especially fun (or dangerous…if your TBR is already overflowing)
Tara: Her posts are always so touching and interesting. I love reading her recipes as well!
Chris: who almost always seems to be in an upbeat mood and leaves the most encouraging comments! His enthusiasm for the books he reviews is great.
Nymeth: I swear everytime she reviews a book, I want to run out and buy it immediately! She’s another one that always has something nice to say on my posts. :) And she posts frequently, which is exciting!
Alisia: she always seems so cosmopolitan, so I love to read about all sorts of international books on her blog. Also, it’s very interesting to read her posts on Judaism, since she didn’t grow up with it but she and her husband have decided it will the family religion. I don’t know too much about Judiasm, so I always learn something!
Bybee: I love reading about her life in South Korea, as well as the various books she’s reading. She introduces me to books outside my ‘comfort zone’ and makes them sound good. Recently, her posts about her book club have been so cozy, makes me wish I could hop on over to Seoul!
TY: her posts are always a ton of fun to read, whether they’re about books or fun nineties pop culture. We’re almost the same age, so I love all of her reminisces since they stir up old memories!
Bookfool: aside from taking absolutely gorgeous pictures, her attitude towards life is so healthy and positive, I can’t help but aspire to be a tiny bit like her. :)
Debi: even though I only recently discovered her blog, she’s another one whose life I really admire. She’s so modest, and at the same time juggles so much, it’s very impressive.
Well, that’s ten! I could’ve gone on and on-everyone on my blogroll makes my day whenever they post.

You’re so kind, Eva! :) Actually you are very good about reciprocating as you have given me suggestions as well! Which mystery did you just finish? Now I’m curious?

  2. January 28, 2008 7:50 pm

Actually, that would be…now I’m curious!

You’re so sweet, Eva :) Your blog makes my day too! So can I give the award right back to you? :p I always love seeing a new post up at your blog, so your blog really does “make my day’!

Danielle, it was Death at La Fenice-the Italian one whose name I can’t remember now…Guido something…lol….I swear I really liked it, despite my memory problems!

Chris, see? more proof that you always leave the nicest comments! :)

Thanks for the award Eva! Your blog (and borrowing from another ’90’s phrase) is the bomb! I check it everyday and I’m in awe at how you manage to read so many books —more books than I’ve seen anybody read—and post on a daily basis. You are blessed with superhuman reading powers. Tight!

    Shucks, Eva…I’m speechless. Almost.
If you should show up in Asia…pop on over!

Congrats on receiving your first blog award and thank you for passing it on. I didn’t realize I was your first commenter. Now when you are rich and famous I can say I knew you when :)

Wow, Eva…you didn’t just make my day, you made my week! Seriously, I’m flabbergasted! You’re one of those people that I sort of have up on a pedestal. You’re so intelligent and so well-read! But not pretentious. I’ve only recently discovered your blog, but it took no time at all to get “hooked”! Thanks so very much for your very kind words! (But I’m not so sure I’m modest, just honest.) I feel honored to receive this award from you, and to be included with such a fine group of people! Yep, I’ll be smiling all day!

Only ten!? What a tough thing to have to do. The fact you made the effort is proof enough that you definitely deserve to have been tagged (even if I didn’t so enjoy having you make my day).

  10. January 29, 2008 11:21 am

Aww, thank you so much, Eva! This made my day :D

I have to think of who to pass this one to now…

  11. January 29, 2008 11:39 am

TY, thanks so much! I’m trying desperately to think of some 90s phrases right now, and nothing’s coming to mind. Oh well…I’ll ave to resign my coolness badge. :)

Bybee, I will! If only plane tickets weren’t quite so expensive…

Iliana, lol-because book blogging is the path to fame and riches! ;)

Debi, thank you so much-now you’ve made my week as well. :D I’m glad you’ll be smiling!

Emily, thanks! I contemplated just giving the award out to my entire blogroll, but I decided that’d be the coward’s way out.

Nymeth, isn’t that the dilemma? I’ll look forward to seeing who you pick. :)

  12. January 29, 2008 12:39 pm

Wow, thanks, Eva! You made my day by tagging me! I hope I can live up to the light in which you’ve just painted me. LOL I’m sitting here trying to think of 90’s phrases because of your conversation with TY and I’ve decided . . . I’m pretty sure I skipped that decade. Too busy mothering. Was “rad” a 90’s thing?

  13. January 29, 2008 12:58 pm

Wow, I’m so flattered! You are sweet, and thanks so much for the award. Your posts make my day too!

  14. January 29, 2008 2:52 pm

Nancy, you’re welcome! I’m sure you’ll live up to the light. :) I think rad was a 90s thing-it sounds familiar!

Tara, you’re welcome as well. I’m glad you enjoyed my posts too!

  15. January 29, 2008 8:49 pm

Congratulations, Eva! I’m looking forward to checking out all your honoree’s!

  16. January 30, 2008 4:16 pm

    RavenousReader, thanks!

Aww…thanks! I don’ think I’ve ever been described as cosmopolitan, I kinda like it! I’m very flattered.
