Having Myself a Merry Little Christmas
Whether you’ve just passed the shortest day of the year or the longest, whether you celebrate religiously or secularly or not at all, I wish you a joy-filled weekend. And here’s to sneaking in a little bit of bookish delight as well (one of my very favourite holiday traditions is to read by Christmas tree light, usually with a lamp somewhere nearby to help out)! ;)
I found my very own copy of The Long Ships under the tree (I guess my mom noticed my gushing) as well as a desperately-needed new tote bag for library trips. But my big gifts were non-bookish: a wonderful new camera (point-and-shoot but with full manual capabilities and a wide, fast, gorgeous Leica lens) and some boots perfect for woodland hikes with Thistle. Aside from gifts, it’s been a perfect Christmas: lots of love and laughter, with no lost tempers or arguments whatsoever. Back to bookish things tomorrow: I’ve been reading so many books under the Christmas tree, I can’t wait to tell you about them!
Thank you for visiting my blog, for reading and commenting and e-mailing and tweeting and caring. You all enrich my life more than I can say. And for me Christmas is a day celebrating love and connections, so you should know you have my deepest gratitude.
All my love,
Eva
Eva, I love the thought of you reading by Christmas-tree light!
May your Christmas day continue to be a joy to you — and thank you for bringing joy to your readers, including me!
I’m headed under the tree now…what a wonderful idea!! Have a wonderful holiday weekend!! :)
Merry Christmas, Eva. This is a beautiful post, and you enrich our lives as well. Have a lovely holiday and a Happy New Year!
Merry Christmas Eva. You deserve all the love and happiness the holiday season can bring. I’m desperate now for my own copy of The Long Ships. Next time I’m looking for a Viking novel for the museum bookgroup I am definitely choosing that one. :-)
The gifts I received were non-bookish too. I think everyone must figure I have too many books already (as if there were such a state).
Merry Christmas!
Sounds like you’re having a perfect holiday. Merry Christmas, Eva!
aw, Merry Christmas dear Eva.
Happy Holidays ,thanks for your wonderful blog.
I’m glad your Christmas has been so great!
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year :)

I’m glad to hear you had a lovely Christmas, and best of wishes for the rest of the holiday season.
Nice to hear Santa brought you a copy of The Long Ships. I was inspired to borrow (the Finnish translation of) it from the library after reading your thoughts on it & finished reading it on the 23rd. I simply loved the book! :)
Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas, I’m glad :)
Ahhh … reading by Christmas tree light! So cozy.
Glad you now have your very own copy of The Long Ships. What a wonderful Christmas gift!
Happy 2nd Day of Christmas to you (yes, it is the day after Christmas). And what a lovely message you left here for your readers. You are appreciated and I look forward to more of your thoughts on reading :)
I’m late to the party, but I’m so glad you’ve had a good holiday season, Eva. I can’t wait to read more about the books you’ve been enjoying under the tree. :D
Happy Christmas, Eva! We are enriched by your blogging and reading, so the feeling is quite mutual :)
