A Striped Armchair Turns 3!

Three years ago today, I began A Striped Armchair! It was over on Blogger at the time, and I began, appropriately enough, with my reading resolutions for 2007. Booklogged and Iliana both left comments, and I haven’t really looked back since. ;)

2009, my third year of book blogging, saw a lot of ‘milestones’ as my little blog began to grow up. In March, it passed the 100,000 visitors mark for the WP blog, and in December it passed the 200,000 mark! There are now over 500 book reviews collected here, and I have over 800 published posts. I vlogged for the first time back in April, and I’ve become a bit addicted to it, with 29 videos uploaded to my Youtube account. I tried out Twitter, and although it’s a bit like having a middle school boyfriend with our on again/off again relationship, I do love being able to chat casually with all of you awesome people. And just recently, I’ve begun using ‘threaded’ comments, wherein I can actually reply to your comment directly beneath it….while I’m still not enamoured with how it affects the ‘comment number,’ I do prefer this new way of doing things! I’ve always been a challenge addict, but I began my first challenge back in January (and discovered that challenge hosting is not for me!), joined in my first read-a-long in December, and became a regular participant in the Classics Circuit. It was a banner year for my blogging!

But of course, the reason why I can’t imagine my life without book blogging is because of all the other wonderful bloggers out there. Y’all have cheered me in my ups, consoled me in my downs, recommended countless amazing books, and become the kind of friends everyone dreams of making. Thank you all for visiting my own blog, and for writing your own, which leave me constantly inspired. Three years ago, I couldn’t even imagine that I’d still be blogging regularly, or that I’d have so many people reading and commenting. So here’s to more years of book blogging bliss! ;)
