BTT and BBAW and acronyms oh my!
Award first! It totally made my day when I found out I won Best Nonfiction Blog. Of course, I’m a bit confused, but in a good, happy way. :D Coincidentally, I’m planning a non-fiction challenge for 2009 (I promise, it has very relaxed options as well as more rigourous ones)! Anyway, I’m glad y’all enjoy my non-fiction reviews, and I shall try to write more of them. ;)
Now for this week’s BTT:
Autumn is starting (here in the US, anyway), and kids are heading back to school–does the changing season change your reading habits? Less time? More? Are you just in the mood for different kinds of books than you were over the summer?
Um, considering I started grad school, yes there has been a significant change in my reading habits. While I look longingly at all of the wonderful books I’d love to read, I then sigh and turn back to the piles of homework. But it’s not just the homework; since it’s a new school, I’m busy making new friends, and that uses up most of my free time. I’m going to balance things out a little more, because really I need my quiet reading time as much as I need friends! Anyway, I can’t say my reading moods are usually affected by the seasons…they’re much less predictable than that! ;) And now I’m off to write an imaginary grant. Ah, the glamorous life of a grad student…
Congratulations on your award! A toast to you! :) I’m in for the non-fiction challenge, just keep me posted. I don’t read enough of it so I need the push.
Congrats on the award, Eva! And I hope that you’re able to quickly adjust to grad school–once you get into the swing of things it’s a blast.
Congrats, Eva! I think you deserve this award and I’m very glad you got it.
I can’t remember if I already congratulated you or not, but just in case: Congratulations!!! :-)
Lezlie

Love the new look! Congrats on your well deserved award!
Matt, thank you! It’ll be an international relations-themed challenge. ;)
Trish, thanks! I finally started feeling like I was settling in in the last couple days; I’ve started work and that’s really helped.
Nik, awww: thank you so much!
Lezlie, thanks!!!
Iliana, thanks! I was messing around on WP, procrastinating from my grant writing, and came across some new themes. :D
Lisa, thanks!!
Tara, thanks!!

Congratulations!
I’m looking forward to your nonfiction challenge!
Congratulations on your award, Eva! I look forward to seeing what you have in store for us next year with the nonfiction challenge. I haven’t decided yet if I am going to forgo all challenges next year or give it another go. This year I haven’t been so good on the challenge front. But I am having fun and enjoying what I am reading–that’s what matters most. :-)
Carl, awww: thanks!
Confuzzled, thanks!
Chartroose, hehe: kidlet. You come up with the best words! :D
Tanabta, thanks!
Rebecca, I’m glad!! I have a crazy-long post introducing it, lol.
Literary Feline, I don’t see challenges as obligations, which I think helps a lot, because they don’t really stress me out. ;) But I completely understand avoiding them!
Congratulations, Eva!!! I’m not surprised you won at all! I think what I love most about your non-fiction reviews is that they’re so varied. You never know just what you might find reviewed here!
I’m excited to hear you may host a non-fiction challenge. I know I’ve sort of sworn off challenges…but I know I’d join in that one. I love reading non-fiction, but find it so easy to put off. That’s where a challenge comes in handy. :)
By the way, I love your pretty new look!
