Yay!! Good news!!

September 12, 2008

I found out today that I got the job I wanted. :D

I’ll be working as a graduate research assistant on international organisation/treaty issues relating to non-proliferation. What a mouthful, huh? hehe

I really, really want to write a review this weekend, but I have a ‘workshop’ that I’m afraid is going to eat all my free time; it was 6-9 tonight, it’s 9-5 tomorrow, and 9-2 on Sunday. And he gave us homework to do tonight! *sigh* Maybe I’ll break out a six-word review. Or just post my new ‘blog schedule.’ The older I get, the more I realise a fundamental truth about myself: I love structure, at least on a micro-level. So lists, schedules, colour-coded plans…they all just make me happy and more productive. I think that’s why I love challenges so much! ;)

BTW, have you heard that Dewey’s next read-a-thon will be on Oct 18th? It’s an awesome experience, and one that I highly recommend making space in your schedule for if you possibly can. I’ve participated both times for all twenty four hours (and you can read my posts by using the categories on the side), and I’ve had a blast! This time, I’ll definitely be getting sleep (because I can’t afford to get a fibro flare-up now that I’m in grad school), but I’ll still be participating! I’ll be doing the administrative side of things, but I hope to still get reading done. Anyway, it’s over a month a way, but you should mark your calendars now!

Gotta go sleep. Class on a Saturday morning is a tragedy.

Class on a Saturday is definitely a tragedy. I felt ROBBED when I had to go to a 9-5 “web institute” in-person class meeting a few weeks back.

Congratulations on the job! That’s fantastic!

Class on Sat morning is a tragedy…when I was a Freshman in college I was scheduled for 7:30 classes on Monday through Saturday. It was a nightmare. English 101 on Saturday morning.

Thank you for commenting! For a long while, my health precluded me replying to everyone. Yet I missed the conversation, so I'm now making an effort to reply again. It might take a few days though, and there will be times when I simply can't. Regardless, I always read and value what you say.
