Gone Reading
I’ve decided to cut myself off from the internet in favour of spending the day with these:

In case you can’t quite make out some of the titles, Memories of Muhammad by Omid Safi, Red Gold by Alan Furst, Seraph on the Suwanee by Zora Neale Hurston, and The Jaguar Smile by Salman Rushdie are my current books. With a bit of focus, I should be able to finish them all by this evening. :)
While getting the book photograph off of my camera, I came across this one, which my sister took at the Natural History Museum in Denver (which is a wonderfully fun place to goof around with a camera)…I’m an Aries, so she had me channel my inner ram and grow some horns. ;)
Until tomorrow!

Enjoy your time away from the PC!
Thanks!
Happy Reading!
Thanks Amanda!
From one Aries to another, that is such a fun photo. Enjoy your reading time! (Such an ambitious – but fun! – day you have planned.)
Aren’t Aries the best? ;)
Sounds like a good way to spend the day, Eva! (Much better than the major cleaning projects I have lined up.) Enjoy!!! (And I hope you like The Jaguar Smile, since I actually already own that one.)
P.S.–Geez, you’re adorable even with horns. :D
I did enjoy Jaguar Smile! You already own the best books Debi: I’m jealous of your personal library. :D
Have a good time reading! I will be spending the day stressing about (a) jobs; (b) birthday presents I can’t afford but I have to get because I love the people whose birthdays are happening; and (c) packing. But I will try to sneak in some reading of my social history of the 1930s. :)
Oh man, I HATE the (b) things you describe! Sometimes I wish birthdays would just be postponed until I’m healthy and can work. :)
I always try and limit my computer time on the weekends as well. Enjoy your books! Great photo, too.
Thanks Danielle! If I don’t consciously ban myself from the computer for awhile, I’m on it way too frequently.
Enjoy your reading :)
Thanks Laura!
Cute picture :) My plan for the day is to bake cookies & read at the beach. Ah, weekends.
Oh, those plans sounds marvelous. I’m jealous you have a beach to read at. ;)
This looks like a very fun plan! I’m a big fan of Alan Furst, who’s the perfect summer read. Have fun with it all.
Isn’t Furst fun? I’m still discovering him, but I loved Night Soldiers.
Have fun with your reading! Love the horns!
Thanks Alyce!
Happy reading! You are sure to enjoy those great selections. And love that museum too. My husband is from Denver so we get out that way from time to time.
Cool! There was a MARVELOUS Native American exhibit…I don’t know if it’s permanent or not, but I loved it.
Enjoy your day away from the computer and lots of reading instead! Cute pic!
Thanks Kathleen!
Cute picture. Have fun reading! I wish I were doing that! Instead, I’m trying not to be frustrated at a freelance design disaster. Ugh.
Eek! I hope your disaster sorts itself out.
Have a fun day reading! I wish I could join in but I feel like there is always something going on that keeps me from spending a whole day reading. I think once the weather gets cooler, that will change.
Thanks Lola! I ended up reading until about 4pm, and then I’d finished up all the books. :) I find it easier to read in cooler weather too!
Enjoy your reading!!
Thanks Meghan!
When you return tell us about Seraph on the Suwanee. I have it on the shelf but haven’t read it yet. I enjoyed Hurston’s Their Eyes Were Watching God very much.
I have so much to say about Seraph on the Suwanee; I hope to get a post up on it this week! It was my second after Their Eyes Were Watching God and only cemented my love for Hurston. :)
Great photo and enjoy your reading!
Thank you!
An excellent decision! Enjoy your reading!
And that is a great picture. :)
Greetings,
Tiina
Thanks Tiina! It’s ironic how blogging both takes away from and enriches my reading all at once, eh?
Love the photo! Hope the day was great.
Thanks: it was! :)
Eva you are absolutely adorable in that picture!
Aww: thanks Christina!
Looking admiringly at the Zora Neale Hurston book.
Great photo!
It’s a book deserving of admiration! ;)
Such a very cute picture of you ^_^
Thanks Chris. :)
Oh, to read four books in a day. Happy reading! Fun picture!
I was finishing them up, rather than starting & finishing them all in one day. I only did that w/ Jaguar Smile…the others I was at least 100 pages into already. ;)
I hope you enjoyed your reading! I spent a great deal of time today reading as well and I hope you were more productive than I was (I kept falling asleep-I blame the mono, not the books).
Boo to your mono!
I hope you enjoyed your reading! Did you manage to finish all books?
I did! :)
Wow, 4 books in one day? Call me green with envy! :)
The braid is cute! Just like you! :)
Thanks Heather! :) And I was already halfway through one of them, and 100 pgs into another two, so it wasn’t quite as much reading as it looks. hehe
Some great titles there, can’t wait to hear your thoughts. Also, lovely picture!
Thanks Amy!
Hope you got a lot of reading done. Cute photo! :)
Thank you Dominique. :)
I’m all about computer-free time. Otherwise I’d never get any reading done. Granted though I’m always behind on my blog reading! Ack.
You look adorable – such a cute shot!
Always good to take time off to read a good book – I’m impressed at your list though. I hope you managed to get through them all :)
