I’m so sorry I’ve been away for so long!! And I’ve missed everyone. I looked at my Google Reader and I have close to 600 posts to catch up on, which is kind of intimidating, but I’ll just take it one blog at a time, lol.
Right: so why did I have this unintended blogging break? Well, the internet experienced a sudden and mysterious death. And since my parents weren’t home, and they pay the bill, the internet guy wouldn’t talk to me.
I intended to go to the library to check in and let y’all know what was happening, but then my fibro started acting up, so I was afraid to drive. And it turned out to be one of my biggest flare-ups in a long time (part of the reason I get a lot of flare-ups right now is that I didn’t have health insurance for the last year, so I couldn’t be on my medicine. However, I’m once again insured, so I’ll be on my medicine when grad school starts. Thank God.). Would you like to know the worst thing about a bad fibro flare-up? I can’t read during one of them, because my brain gets all fuzzy!! Fortunately, today I woke up feeling like my normal self and my dad has made them fix the internet.
So, even though I’ve been gone for almost two weeks, almost all of the ‘reading now’ stuff is still current (I did finish Apartment Therapy and The Habit of Being). I plan on posting daily until August 14th, which is when I move out to Cali. I have no idea what it’s going to be like out there-I’m going to stay with a college professor who now teaches, and I’ll be apartment hunting, so here’s my plan. Remember the list of books I need to review? And the Weekly Geeks to ask questions? Well, until August 14th, I would love for you to keep asking questions. Meanwhile, I’ll be creating short posts about the books, based on the questions asked. They won’t be like my normal reviews, but it should be a lot easier to get enough of them done so that my poor blog isn’t neglected again! Obviously, I can’t do this without your help, so please, if you have any kind of question about any of the books, leave a comment on any post-I’ll know what you’re talking about.
That’s it for now. I’m sorry I was gone for so long-I hope I can rebuild up my blog pretty quickly. I have lots of stuff to talk about tomorrow, but right now I’m off to start catching up on that reader!!
I’m glad all is alright and you are feeling better. I just remembered you posted before and during and after your vacation so it seemed odd for you to not post in two weeks…
So glad to hear you are feeling better. You need to get well before you leave. That’s all. Just enjoy you site and miss you when you are not there:)
I’m happy you’re back, and sorry you’ve been ill. I’m eager to hear about Apartment Therapy.
Oh sweetie, I’m so sorry you had another rough patch! It truly breaks my heart thinking about you feeling so bad. But I’m so very happy you’re back now, feeling good again! And hooray for fixed internet service…we finally got ours taken care of, too.
Good luck with your big move…it’s such a pain to prepare for, but so exciting too, huh? Whew, it’s coming fast now, isn’t it?
Good to see you back. So for a few questions. How well do you think Meg Rosoff portrayed teen life for an American girl? I though England had an idealistic (at the start) feel to it, but loved the book.
And, in Peony in Love, was you able to believe that their love could survive her death? x
Glad you’re back and feeling better.
Welcome back, Eva! I’m glad you’re feeling better. And you’re leaving for grad school so soon. Good luck with moving and apartment hunting and everything!
Welcome back! Missed you very very muchly, and I’m glad you’re feeling better and the ‘net is back! Yay!
Glad you are back and hope your health improves! So awful being exhausted all the time and in pain. Relax and get caught up at your own pace!
I didn’t know you struggled with fibro — my partner is going through CFS/Lyme/Whatever and I sympathize, it’s very difficult. Glad you are feeling better and am looking forward to reviews and posts!
Glad to have you back and that you’re feeling better!
Eva you take care and just take one blog at a time ![]()
Glad to see you back!
Sorry to hear you’ve not been well–that sounds terrible!! I hope you’re on the mend and can get back on your meds before school! And 600 posts–ACK–now I don’t feel so behind anymore….
Take care!
Hope you’re feeling better for a long, long time now! What a bummer not to feel like reading. I can’t imagine! Oh wait a minute, yes I can. Years ago, I had surgery for a broken wrist, set myself up with a stack of books to keep me company for the week afterwards before I could go back to work, and spent the whole time watching hideous daytime TV and my roommate’s entire Star Trek collection on video instead. Just could not read, for some reason.

I’m glad you’re back. It’s awful when people won’t deal with you because you’re not on the bill. Been there, done that. As to questions, I noticed you only gave Legerdemain 3 stars and I’m curious why it was just an average read, for you, since I found it utterly gripping. What did you like most about the book, if anything?
