Kevin Bales, the author of Disposable People stopped by yesterday, and left a comment. I thought I’d pass the information on to you! First, Disposable People has a newer, 2005 edition out. Also, Bales published a book in September of last year called Ending Slavery: How We Free Today’s Slaves that’s garnered great reviews. Finally, there’s a website called Free the Slaves, which belongs to the largest American anti-slavery group. It’s a great website: very interactive and multimedia, and offers a bunch of information as well as suggestions for how to help.
I’ll be posting a review later, but for now, why not go check out the site?
Sarah also recommended Slave by Medne Nazar, an autiobiography of a Sudanese woman forced into slavery. And Heather has a review of Nobodies: she gave it a 9 out of 10 rating!
How nice to have an author comment, and thanks for the extra info.
I have the book Slave on my TBR shelf and plan to read it soon.

Thanks for the additional info, Eva. I requested Disposable People through our library system. I’m anxious to read it, but I’m sure the horrors it will reveal won’t make it an easy read.
