This is more a housekeeping post than anything, which is why I time-stamped it to show up below the BAFAB post: I like to do quarterly reviews of my reading and blogging in order to see patterns/trends/etc. Yep, I’m a bit of a nerd-but at least I don’t make graphs from the data!

What I think is most interesting about this is that over half of my reading is either set abroad or about an international topic, but only 23% of the books I read are by foreign authors (once again, I don’t count England as ‘foreign’ since I lived there for seven years). That’s a pretty big difference! Still, I’m not doing too bad on foreign authors, even if only 13% of the fiction I read is in translation. I hope to up that one a little. Of my fiction reading, a quarter falls into the ‘classics’ category (I’ve included authors like Lewis, Nesbit, and Wodehouse in this-it’s difficult to decide what exactly a classic is), which isn’t too bad. If I change that to pre-twentieth century, though, it drops to a much less respectable 8% (oh, Forster, why couldn’t you have published A Room With a View nine years earlier?). Must work on that! (We need a classics challenge, people!) My blogging’s quite respectable, although March’s numbers are down due to vacation. Still, I’m quite happy on that front. And the sheer number of books I’ve read boggles my mind-I’ve never read at this kind of pace before in my life. We’ll see if it keeps up for the next quarter or not.
Is that the number of books you’ve read IN THE PAST 3 MONTHS? That blows my mind.
Wow! I love reading vicariously through you, as you just devour books – it’s amazing!
I can’t stop giggling at that “at least I don’t make graphs from the data” remark! And I really needed a “cheer-me-up” this morning, so thank you, Eva!
But 79 books! I’m in awe, my dear. In awe.
Excuse my while I pick myself off the floor… Wow, those are some amazing numbers. I can’t believe you’ve read that much in just three months. Just think how many books you’ll get a chance to go through by the end of the year. Ooh, lucky you.
Wow, I can’t believe you read 79 books so far! And I thought I was holding strong with 16… Yay for booknerds – I totally have a spreadsheet that totals things for me…

Hmmmm….I have a spreadsheet which helps me keep track of my stats, which of course means I could do a graph if I wanted. But I abstained as I have a hard enough time pretending not to be a book nerd, and heaven forbid I actually go and do something to prove it!! (Like having a blog and joining so many challenges that a spreadsheet is the only way I can keep track of them and uh, wait a minute…oh dear….I am a BOOKNERD!!)
Nice reading review…I am impressed and congratulate you on doing so well!!
