A Striped Armchair

So. Tired.

Posted by: Eva on: February 6, 2008

It’s been one of those days.  Baby Love is getting her molars in, and all morning she was in a ton of pain but refusing to take any baby Tylenol (what was that about terrible twos?), so I spend a long time pacing back and forth with her like when she was a newborn (except now she weighs 30 pounds instead of 6!).  It’s also my sister’s birthday (she lives in a different time zone and Wednesday’s are her busy days), and my dad’s flying back from a business trip to London but the airline called the house to tell me that his flight had been cancelled, so I played a lot of phone tag/desperate e-mails throughout the day.  Also, I’m reading a book that I’m not enjoying a ton, and I hate it when reading starts to feel like homework!

Ok, enough of the whining.  I’m also reading some great books (and I finished two up last night), I’ve been toying with a challenge idea in my head (don’t worry-it wouldn’t happen for awhile), and yoga is helping me keep (or at least strive for) a calm as I go about the day.  That being said, I don’t have a book review in me tonight.  So, instead I worked up a short list as an entry to this month’s Bookworms Carnival.  Look below to find out all about my favourite fantasy books!  (Oh, and I did do the drawing for The House at Riverton, but I’m not sure if the person who won wanted the book or not, so I’m waiting to announce that until I know!)

Goodness that sounds tiring! Good thing you’ve got some good books.

Oh, dear, teething makes for some challenging days. Hope things are on the mend!

I totally forgot there was a drawing for doing the meme. I’d love the ARC. Thanks, Eva.

Hope your little girl is feeling better.

Oh Eva, sorry yesterday was such a rough day! Hope today is the exact opposite–relaxing and devoid of stress!

Sorry about your day. So what is your idea for the challenge?

I got House at Riverton when I was in Malaysia, it’s an UK trade paperback! I haven’t started it yet! I’m still reading a book called Contempt, written by an Italian writer Alberto Moravia.

I hope your daughter feels better. :)

Kim L, yep!

JenClair, she was much better today. :)

Susan, great! Congrats on winning. :)

Debi, thanks. It was definitely better.

Jaimie, it has to do with non-fiction, but I’m going to wait to say more than that until it becomes a bit more clear in my own mind!

Matthew, I’m so jealous of your trip to Malaysia (I’ve been looking at the pictures in my spare time)! Thanks for the good wishes-Baby Love is my niece, not my daughter, but I’m her nanny so I spend lots of time with her. :)

I hate days like that! I hope the baby settles down soon.
